The challenge

Generic point-of-sale systems can require businesses with specialised workflows to adapt their processes around the software. Businesses such as pharmacies, clinics, and mixed-inventory retailers may need to manage physical products, services, pre-packaged goods, and products sold by quantity or measurement within the same system. They also need billing, inventory, customer management, and access controls to work together as part of a single operational workflow.

The solution

Clywell designed and built Qlickx as a cloud-based, multi-tenant SaaS platform. The frontend is built with Next.js, while the backend is built with .NET and the application is deployed using Docker. The platform brings point-of-sale operations, inventory management, product and service billing, customer management, and role-based access control into one system. It also supports measurement-based sales for goods sold by litre, weight, or other defined quantities. This architecture gives businesses a centralised environment for managing sales and inventory while providing the flexibility required for different operational models.

Why it matters

Qlickx is live, publicly accessible, and accepting new sign-ups, making it an actively deployed SaaS product rather than a prototype or concept. The platform is also being continuously extended as part of Clywell's broader product development. This demonstrates Clywell's ability to build software designed for ongoing iteration, new capabilities, and evolving business requirements.
